Weekend Work with our Carleton Mentees

At the end of last season, we welcomed two Carleton students to our farm. They came to us through the Farm Mentorship Program at Carleton College, developed and managed by the Center for Community and Civic Engagement. Through this program, we provide Carleton mentees with meaningful opportunities to engage in the work of our farm. The mentees, in return, help with labor, problem solving, and research. Our mentees, pictured here, have been integral in managing our field work this spring. They have picked rocks, bagged rocks, spread mulch, picked flowers, planted trees (see below), asked thoughtful questions, and provided solutions to current wonderings. We are so thankful to Soon Kai and Lauren, our mentees, for taking an interest in our farm and being motivated when doing even the most mundane task.
